Ever thought of an acting career? Would you like the chance to work on an upcoming feature film? How about learning how to make movies?

Florida Media Market is excited to offer two 3-day intense workshops on Acting and Producting over staggered Saturdays, starting this June 21st. Come learn the in and outs of producing films -- from how to option a script to marketing and distributing a movie once it's completed. Further your acting career by learning the techniques you need to get ahead, what directors and producers are looking for at that first audition and how to get your SAG/AFTRA union membership. In addition, graduates from the Acting and Producing workshops will receive priority status for casts and crews of upcoming feature film and television projects!
Cost: $300 for each Workshop

 
 

filMiami Participates In The 34th International Emmy Awards…

Annie Perez, Director of Marketing for FilMiami attended the INTERNATIONAL EMMY® WORLD TELEVISION FESTIVAL and 34th INTERNATIONAL EMMY® AWARDS GALA November 19th and 20th in New York.
This year FilMiami participated by co-hosting with Miami Dade College the semi-final judging for Latin American programming in the categories of Drama and Comedy on August 21, 2006 at the Wolfson Campus. FilMiami was invited to attend the Festival and Gala in New York. In addition, Miami in the Spotlight Black Books and DVD were distributed at the INTERNATIONAL EMMY® WORLD TELEVISION FESTIVAL.

Bobby Screening

“Bobby,” written and directed by Emilio Estevez, revisits the night Robert F. Kennedy was gunned down at the Ambassador Hotel in 1968. With an incredible ensemble cast portraying fictionalized characters from a cross-section of America, the film follows 22 individuals who are all at the hotel for different purposes but share the common thread of anticipating Kennedy’s arrival at the primary election night party, which would change their lives forever. This historic night is set against the backdrop of the cultural issues gripping the country at the time, including racism, sexual inequality and class differences.

SPAIN TV 2006 Is A Big Success!

FilMiami participated in the 2006 Spain TV Expo for the fifth consecutive year and the event was a complete success.  Twenty eight film and entertainment companies from Spain including members of FAPAE (Spanish Federation of Audio-Visual Producers), seventy U.S. and Latin American distribution companies and other local film & entertainment production companies came together for three days at The Palms Hotel in South Beach to make distribution and co-production deals.
